Austin Family Photographer | Spring Baby Session at Zilker Botanical Garden

Originally, we planned to photograph this sweet 6-month-old baby surrounded by bluebonnets. However, as the session date approached, the bloom at our planned location wasn’t at its best. Instead of forcing the location, we decided to move the session to Zilker Botanical Garden, one of the most reliable and beautiful spots in Austin.

By late March, the garden was just starting to come alive with seasonal flowers. While it wasn’t peak wildflower season yet, there was still plenty of greenery and soft spring color, which worked perfectly for a natural and timeless look.

Zilker Botanical Garden is a favorite location for an Austin family photographer, offering a calm environment, soft natural light, and a variety of beautiful backdrops. This makes it especially comfortable for families and helps create gentle, flattering images without harsh sunlight.

For this session, we focused mainly on the garden areas, capturing relaxed, natural moments between the parents and their baby. Around six months is such a special stage, when babies are expressive, curious, and full of personality, making it a perfect time for photos.

We also spent some time near the waterfall area, which gave us a completely different atmosphere. The combination of greenery, stone textures, and flowing water added depth and variety to the gallery while still keeping a cohesive, natural feel.
